Daniel’s work is influenced by sequential art. He likes the idea of making pictures which can be read in sequence and create an overall effect, or story. He’s interested in the popularity of comics and graphic novels as an art form, and the idea of combining this with older traditions of painting and poetry.

He finds that sequential art is a good way to bring different elements together into something coherent, different techniques, images and concepts. Daniel is not interested in using popular art forms to comment on pop culture glibly, but trying to make art which can speak with depth on lots of different levels.  He likes the idea of visual poems or visual songs, with lyrics.  There is a lot of potential to be explored in sequential art as an art form.
